I proudly support Elise Stefanik and Nick Langworthy’s Stop Dangerous Sanctuary Cities Act.
Westchester needs leaders who stand with law enforcement – not radical sanctuary policies that protect criminal aliens. Ken Jenkins and Kathy Hochul failed us and made our communities less safe. Jenkins – the architect of Westchester’s Sanctuary County Law – promoted his dangerous ideology on the campaign trail by declaring that ICE agents are “not welcome” in Westchester. His stubborn refusal to repeal his sanctuary law will now cost taxpayers hundreds of millions.
As Congresswoman Stefanik said, “Kathy Hochul and Far Left Democrats created the catastrophic border and illegal migrant crisis in our state that puts illegals first and New Yorkers last.”
The proposed bill would “block federal funding for sanctuary jurisdictions that prohibit local law enforcement authorities from cooperating with federal immigration authorities.” Continued Stefanik, “Sanctuary cities in New York State shield criminal illegals while hurting law-abiding citizens…sanctuary cities incentivize illegal migration into New York State overrunning social services, drive up housing costs, and reduce wages.”
As Congressman Nick Langworthy explained: “The violence we are seeing happen in LA right now is a cautionary tale for New York, another sanctuary state catering to criminal illegal immigrants and left-wing extremists…state and local governments MUST comply with federal immigration enforcement efforts, and if they don’t, the Stop Dangerous Sanctuary Cities Act would withhold federal financial assistance from them.”
When I’m County Executive, I will work with courageous leaders like Reps. Stefanik and Langworthy to restore law and order, fully cooperate with federal authorities and always put the safety of our families first. Ken Jenkins won’t. I will.
I proudly support Elise Stefanik and Nick Langworthy’s Stop Dangerous Sanctuary Cities Act.
